Last updated: 04/05/2013Review: An Evening with Dave Simms

The Burlington Suite of the Cresta Court Hotel contained a small, excited but apprehensive crowd on Tuesday evening when Dave Simms came to town. But those who didn’t know what to expect were soon won over by the open and honest debates that Dave likes to engage in.
'An Evening with Dave Simms' lasted a little over two hours and contained back to back stories of all things hockey from the days of the Super League right up to what happened on Twitter the night before.
At the end of the night, just before Dave was presented with his gift of thanks on behalf of the Supporters Club by Paul Turner, a shirt raffle was drawn. Julie Forrester won the Andrew Sharp Game Worn Shirt first, before donating it back into the raffle to be drawn again, where this time club photographer Nick Ogden was awarded the prize.
The event raised £310 of funds for the Supporters Club, thanks to Mr Simms only asking for his travel expenses to be covered, and all the fans who ventured out on a cold and wet March evening to help raise the funds. The support was greatly appreciated and we hope you all had a good night.
