The Manchester Phoenix Supporters Club was established during the first EPL season (09/10).
The club was created to help the team whenever they are in need and to date have provided funds for player sponsorship to allow the team to bring in additional players mid season.
Through a variety of fund raising events such as Quiz Nights (often attended by Phoenix players) the club gets the fans closer to the off ice action and gives them another opportunity to show their support for the beloved Manchester Phoenix.
The current board members came together in July 2012 and they are made up of Norma Harrop (Treasurer), Julie Forrester (Secretary), Laura Galek, Jane Reeves and Amanda Johnson. Also, David Kinsey serves as Chairperson (Non-board role).
Committee Member (Since 29/07/12)
I have been a Hockey fan since 1995 and a Phoenix fan and Season Ticket holder since their first season. I enjoy travelling to away games and am very lucky to have only missed 2 Phoenix games in their history.
I am privileged to have been voted on to the Supporters Club committee for the 2012-13 season and I am keen for the Supporters Club to continue the good work they have done and hope to improve this further. I would love to help increase the membership and make it a focal part of the Manchester Phoenix.
I have worked for HMRC for almost 30 years and live in Salford with my partner Pete and cat Kipper.
David H Kinsey
Chairperson (Since 31/07/11)
I have been following ice hockey since the second season of a certain other Manchester team, and have been a Season Ticket holder with Phoenix since the rink at Altrincham opened.
I have been on the Committee of a local Aviation Society for the last 35 years, quite a number of those years in the post of Chairman.
Committee Member (Since 29/07/12)
I've been a huge Phoenix fan as well as a season ticket holder for years and became involved with the supporters club for the 2012/13 season to give something back to the club.
I am motivated and highly organised and want to help, not only in raising money but with making the supporters club a vital part of any Phoenix fan's experience.
Secretary (Since 07/03/10)
I have watched hockey since the Storm played their first game at the MEN Arena and have been a regular ever since. I am keen to help the Supporter's Club develop. I can be found on match nights either on the Supporter's Club desk under Block 7 or in my seat in Block 9. I also administer the away travel on behalf of the club and travel on the coach to almost all the away games. I have enjoyed tremendously my involvement with the Supporter's Club over the past two seasons and hope to continue.
I am employed as a Product Manager and have been married to Neil for 27 years and have two adult children.
Treasurer (Since 01/09/10)
When the Supporters Club was formed I started out as the Secretary. In September 2010 I then took over as Treasurer from Becky James who due to work commitments had to resign (thanks Becky for the stirling job you did).
I can be found on match nights in the reception area outside the White Magic Shop and if I manage to get to my seat I sit in Block 10!!!!!
I work at the University of Manchester where I am a secretary in the Faculty of Medical & Human Sciences. I have one son (Paul) who plays recreation ice hockey at the dome, unfortunately not as often as he would like. I also have a beautiful granddaughter called Georgia Olivia.
